

It might be nice to have, but I'm not sure if the price difference is worth it. I also did try the phase-shifting once on the Plus, and it sounded like an even smaller tonal difference. They don't change the tone too much, especially if you are playing with heavy distortion, but it is nice every now and then. I'm not sure about a tone difference in the pickups, I was mostly just trying out guitars for feel since amps are most of the tone, in my opinion, though I do like having the coil-splits.

I think the main differences is that the Pro-III Limited Edition Plus has a flame top, a pickguard, and a 10db boost and a phase shift on push/pull switches on the tone knobs (in addition to the coil-splits on the volume knobs, which both guitars have). I was actually looking at both last summer (ended up getting a used version of the original LP Traditional Pro instead), and they both felt the same to me.
